Surely it wasn’t a big deal to just add deck select buttons here, but I guess Pioneer DJ really wants this to be a strict two-channel device. on this you get to use the 8 dedicated pads for fx/looping/sampler/cue points in a song, and all those features are individually editable. The entry-level DDJ-RB has many top features usually only found on expensive professional midi controllers. Pioneer DJ kept the upgraded mixer section of the DDJ-SB2, which includes trim pots, three-band EQs, and filter knobs. It all boils down to whether or not you have club or festival DJing aspirations – if you do, go for the DDJ-400.

We advise you to update to a currently supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to improve your security, speed, and overall experience. rekordbox and rekordbox dj ‐ included in the box ‐ allow you to manage your tracks and perform using just one library. DEDICATED hard plastic PLAY/CUE buttons similar to a standard CDJ setup, this made a huge difference compared to the mushy square pads on the SB2 for play/cue/etc.

Though the DDJ-400 is fresher, there are some differences between the two that new DJs will want to take a look at before deciding which one to get, and we’ve got them laid out here for you: 1. Guitar Guitar Limited trading as guitarguitar acts as a credit broker not a lender and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm registration number 742103.

Impressive high quality jog wheels are teamed for the first time with eight performance pads for triggering cues and effects, plus discrete, CDJ style play/pause and cue buttons. However, if you’re sure you’re only ever going to want to use Rekordbox DJ, want eight performance pads, and don’t mind controlling two decks maximum, the DDJ-RB is a decent controller to get. Here is what’s new with the DDJ-RB: Jogwheels The jogwheels on a DDJ-RB are large, especially for a controller this small. The entry-level DDJ-RB is inspired by our professional controllers for rekordbox dj, the DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX.The layout of sockets for connecting headphones and microphones is different on the DDJ-RB and DDJ-SB which means that not all flight cases designed for one work well with the other. The DDJ-RB also features trim pots and level meters to put the volume controls of each track at your fingertips. This is a significant upgrade from the four performance pads / four transport pads of the DDJ-SB and DDJ-SB2. Mix instinctively with the jog wheels, play/cue buttons, mixer knobs and faders, gain pots, VU meter and dedicated loop buttons built to mirror the rekordbox dj layout. Finally… If getting behind the decks at clubs and playing festivals are your end goals when it comes to DJing, it’s worth learning how and getting used to spinning on the DDJ-400’s CDJ/DJM-style layout.
